CROSS WALK HAWAII (Part Four) Waikiki Beach Part Two—The Cross Walk With YWAM Staffers

Posted by Tom Alexander on June 26th, 2019

YWAM staffers, Billy, Ethan, Jessie and Paul load up the cross in preparation for the three mile journey to Waikiki Beach.

The Friday morning solo cross walk of Waikiki Beach was awesome, and I especially liked the opportunity of walking the cross all the way back to the YWAM base after cross walking Waikiki.  After the three hour Waikiki Beach cross walk, the trek back to the Base was a very long and uphill 3-mile cross walk. But I made it! And this also gave me the opportunity to pray for many individuals as I walked that long trek back to the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) base.

Because the University of Hawaii  wasn’t far from the WYAM base, the walk back gave me the opportunity to walk throughout the large college and pray for Great Awakening and Great Revival to breakout among the popular college’s 18,000 students.

HALLELUJAH HONOLULU AND THE WARMTH OF THE SON

Saturday came fast. Loading up the cross on the SUV (like a surfboard), four YWAM staff members—Billy, Ethan, Jessie and Paul—and I headed for Waikiki Beach and a little early morning cross walking safari.  Dawn Patrol for Jesus! Other YWAMers would meet up with us later. I was looking forward to watching these young missionaries walk the cross and pray for their city.  Although my body and muscles were still tired from the extremely long cross walk the day before, their energy and enthusiasm quickened my spirit. And besides that, I knew they would be toting the 60-pound cross instead of me!

Of course, the first thing we did was walk the cross back out to the end of a different jetty than Friday’s cross walk, hoist the 60-pound, 10-foot cross upright, and ask God to send forth Great Revival and Great Awakening throughout the entire state of Hawaii. As the warm waves crashed against the cement jetty just below our feet, I could feel the power of God surge like a mighty ocean wave and sweep across the Bay. Today, the Shekinah Glory and Resurrection Power of Jesus Christ would be displayed mightily throughout Waikiki Beach and Honolulu.

YOU NEED TO DO THIS IN NORWAY, TOO!

YWAM staff member Paul Harder walking the cross down the Waikiki Beach boardwalk.

Billy, Ethan, Jessie and Paul all took turns walking the cross along the crowded beach boardwalk. Usually I’m the one toting the cross, so this gave me the opportunity to observe individual’s reactions. I must say that the majority of people smiled and said very positive things about the sight of a large cross being carried by these young missionaries.

I handed out 2-sided tracts about the cross walk to people passing by. A young woman (who was a flight attendant) and her mom from Norway just couldn’t believe the sight. We talked several minutes about the cross walk. Both are Christians, and their joy in Christ was very apparent. The mom kept saying, “You need to do this in Norway!”

After praying with them for Great Revival to break out here as well as Norway, I caught up with the cross walkers, who seemed to be enjoying this Saturday morning prayer walk. Both the beach and the boardwalk were full of vacationers, tourists and residents, and the YWAMers were busy handing out tracts and talking to individuals about Jesus the Messiah.

There isn’t any doubt at all that the living God was smiling as He looked down from Heaven at the sight of these young missionaries taking turns walking the cross and sharing their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ with men, women and children who need to know that Jesus is the only way, truth and life! CROSS WALK HAWAII (Part Three): Waikiki Beach Part One—The Solo Walk

Posted by Tom Alexander on June 20th, 2019

Waikiki Bay and Beach. A great day to walk the cross and talk about the first Water Walker.

State and state capital #40.

The entire time (eight days) I was in Honolulu I never had the time or the opportunity to get wet! Just too busy walking the cross and praying for the entire state of Hawaii. BUT…I did get to go to Waikiki Beach on two days. Both days were for cross walking and sharing God’s Good News about Jesus Christ to the endless hordes of residents, vacationers and tourists who were able to jump into the beautiful and crystal blue waters of Waikiki Bay.

Day one at Waikiki Beach was a solo walk. Billy Kyllonen, director of School Of Ministry and Evangelism (SOME) for Honolulu WYAM, was kind enough to load up the cross atop his SUV and drive me to Waikiki Beach.

IF EVERYBODY HAD AN OCEAN

Praying at Waikiki Beach for Honolulu’s 400,000 souls, as well as Hawaii’s 1.5 million souls,

As a former surfer, I was naturally drawn to the beauty of Waikiki Beach’s pristine and clear waters as well as the large manmade jetty. And, of course, I had every intention of walking the cross to the end of the jetty, hoisting it upright, and praying for Honolulu’s 400,000 souls—and that’s exactly the first thing I did!

Scores of beachgoers stopped what they were doing and watched as I walked the cross to the end of the jetty, probably wondering what in the world was going on. The first thing that struck me was the smiles on the faces of all these sun bathers and swimmers as I slowly walked the cross.

Time seemed to stand still as I walked to the end of the jetty, hoisted the cross upright and prayed for Great Revival and Great Awakening to break out throughout Waikiki Beach, Honolulu and all of Hawaii. I prayed loud and long, and I sensed that many people were not only watching, but they were listening as well.

TENNESSEE VACATIONERS PRAY FOR HAWAII

As is my custom, I pointed the cross North, then East, then West, and finally South (Good NEWS) as I prayed, asking God Almighty to send forth His Shekinah Glory, Resurrection Power and Spirit of Grace & Supplication throughout the Hawaiian Islands and bring thousands of souls to Him.

This vacationing Christian couple from Tennessee prayed loud and long for Hawaii’s 1.5 million souls.

After praying I spoke with several people about the cross walk and why I was here. A Christian couple from Tennessee  approached me and asked if they could take pictures of themselves with the cross. Of course. Then I asked if they would join me in praying for Hawaii’s 1.5 million souls. They readily agreed. Both the husband and the wife prayed powerfully and sincerely for Hawaii. What was so awesome is that they also prayed loud and long as well.

We had a great time afterwards, talking about the Lord and the fact that I had walked the cross in Tennessee and its state capital the previous year.  People from Tennessee are very friendly, and we had a wonderful time fellowshipping. Read the rest of this entry »

CROSS WALK HAWAII (Part Two): State Capitol & Downtown Honolulu

Posted by Tom Alexander on May 29th, 2019

THE CAPITOL MALL AND DOWNTOWN HONOLULU

The Sign On The Newly Constructed Cross Says it All.

I was looking forward to walking the cross at the world renowned Waikiki Beach with YWAM staff members. But day two in Hawaii would be a solo cross walk at the Capitol Mall and downtown Honolulu. For reasons that are His alone, God always requires me to initially walk the cross at each capital alone. I don’t even ask Him why. I just obey His edit, although I do have some ideas as to why.

At 8:30 in the morning, YWAM’s Billy Kyllonen graciously helped me load up the 10-foot, 60-pound cross on the rack of his SUV and then drove me downtown and a few blocks from the Capitol building. We prayed that hearts would be open to the message of the Cross and then I headed toward the nearby huge and beautiful park, where several homeless people had erected tents.

I was surprised at the large number of homeless people living in Honolulu.

GOD’S GOT HIS PEOPLE EVERYWHERE—EVEN ON THE STREETS

Homeless But Not Help-less—Just A Bump In My Life.

Because I like to hoist the cross upright at strategic spots in each city and pray long and hard for the salvation and safety of the residents of the city, this huge park was the ideal area to do this. As I hoisted the cross upright, a man’s voice filled the air. “Wow! You’re praying for our city, aren’t you?! I turned to look.

Mike was homeless. But he also held down two part-time jobs, including working at a nearby church doing maintenance work. Saving up money to eventually get a place to live, he was a happy and gentle soul who offered me a bottle of water and food. “You want to pray with me for the people living in Honolulu?” I asked. “And the homeless, too, please!” Mike added. We prayed, then talked awhile about Hawaii, Jesus Christ and homelessness in Honolulu.

Mike considered the homeless his ministry as well. He shared that he was always praying with and taking to the homeless about God’s love for them. Truly, God’s got an army in Hawaii. Though some may not fit the description of what a Christian looks like, Mike and so many others I met during this cross walk were not afraid to share their faith in Jesus, even if life was being kinda rough on them right now.

A MEDICAL DOCTOR’S E-MAIL TO ME AFTER THE CROSS WALK

Honolulu Has A Large Population Of Homeless People.

After having a great conversation with Mike, I headed toward the Capitol Mall. The large number of tents scattered throughout the large park as well as throughout Honolulu’s huge Chinatown neighborhood that I noticed as we drove past on our way to downtown stayed on my mind. Later that day and after returning to the YWAM base, I received an e-mail from a Christian medical doctor I had spoken with as I walked the cross toward the Capitol building. This is part of his e-mail to me:

“Tom, it was a pleasure to meet you this morning. What an amazing effort you are putting forth for God’s Kingdom! Thank you for your efforts and your kindness! Will you pray for the homeless here in Honolulu? The cost of living here is extremely high so our homeless population consists of many people with mental health problems, addiction and substance abuse problems, but also many people who are actually working but cannot afford housing. It is not uncommon to see homeless men and women living in tents in the sidewalks brushing their teeth in the morning and  dressing for work.”

This compassionate M.D. and I would communicate several more times throughout my stay in Hawaii. His main emphasis was Matthew 25 and Jesus’ words to those who met and who would not meet the needs of hurting individuals, including the homeless.

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR OUR ELECTED LEADERS

Praying Loud & Long At Hawaii’s State Capitol Building.

After walking several blocks, I reached the beautiful Capitol Mall. Hoisting the large cross upright, I began praying for Hawaii’s governor, lieutenant governor, two state senators and twenty-five state representatives, that each one would not only accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, but that each one would follow His will concerning every decision they would make during their terms of office.

As is my custom, I pointed the cross North, then East, then West and then South (NEWS) as I prayed, asking the Lord of the Harvest to send forth His  Holy Spirit and Shekinah Glory throughout the entire state and reveal Himself strong to Hawaii’s 1.5 million souls. I also asked the God of glory to send forth the Spirit of Great Revival, Great Awakening and Great Godly Sorrow throughout the Aloha State—and to begin this great revival right here at ground zero!

As I finished praying, a young woman walked up to me, her face filled with great happiness and joy. “Thank you for praying for our state!” she shouted loud for all to hear. “I am a Christian and I praise God for what you are doing.” We spoke for several minutes, then I asked if she would join me in prayer as well. She prayed a powerful prayer to our Heavenly Father, that the people of Hawaii would accept Jesus as their Savior and that the elected leaders would also give their lives to the Lord. The presence of the LORD was very strong and I knew that God would, indeed, answer our prayers for the sake of the people of Hawaii—no matter how long it would take!

CROSS WALK HAWAII (Part One): Constructing The Cross For The Cross Walk

Posted by Tom Alexander on May 28th, 2019

“They will look upon Me whom they have pierced…”

STATE AND STATE CAPITAL CROSS WALK # 40.

As a young man and surfer, I had always dreamed of visiting Hawaii and riding those huge waves off Oahu’s world famous North Shore. But when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in February, 1973 I gave up the longboard for the long cross and The Endless Summer for The Endless Easter (eternal life).

Forty-six years later, here I was on my way to Honolulu and Waikiki Beach, not to surf, but to lug a very large cross throughout this capital city and world famous beach and to pray loud and long for God to send forth Great Revival, Great Awakening and Great Godly Sorrow that produces genuine repentance throughout this our nation’s 50th state.

HONOLULU’S YOUTH WITH A MISSION

YWAM Honolulu’s Billy Kyllonen Constructing The New Cross.

Because I could not bring my well-used and well-traveled 10-foot, 60-pound cross on the plane trip to Honolulu, I decided to construct a new one once arriving in Honolulu, with the idea of leaving the large cross with YWAM Honolulu (Youth With A Mission), the worldwide missionary and evangelism group I would be staying with throughout the eight-day cross walk. It was my prayer that these young missionaries would take up the cross once I returned to Bakersfield, California and begin a cross-walking ministry throughout the entire state of Hawaii.

However, I did bring the 12″ bike wheel and yoke assembly with me on the plane. Whenever I construct a large cross, I visit Goodwill centers, purchase old 12″ bicycles, take the front tire yoke off the old bike and then secure the freshly painted yoke with new tire and tube on the cross as a way of helping me walk the 60-pound cross for several miles each and every cross walk throughout America’s state capitals, as well as California cities and local cross walks.

CONSTRUCTING THE NEW CROSS

After arriving in Honolulu and at the YWAM base and enjoying a good night’s sleep, YWAM’s director of the School Of Missions and Evangelism (SOME), Billy Kyllonen, drove me to the local Home Depot, to purchase two 10′ by 4″ x 4″ Douglas Fir wood beams to construct the new cross.

YWAM had all the tools needed to construct the new cross. Thanks to Mike Coates, an intelligent and well organized  Maintenance Director, this cross-making project would be done right and the cross would last for many, many years.

The Finished Cross. Billy, His Wife Beth, And Their Littlest Of Six Children.

Because I wanted this cross to be YWAM’s cross after I returned home, I asked Billy to construct the cross and he eagerly began work on the cross. Billy did an amazing and wonderful job constructing the new cross. All I did was provide verbal instructions. Usually I stain the cross a golden brown color and then waterproof it with a sealer. But since  I was going to walk the cross throughout the Capitol Mall and downtown the next day, we decided to forgo staining it until a later date.

THE CROSS ANOINTED AND APPOINTED FOR SERVICE

After completing construction of the new cross, I asked Billy and several YWAM staff members to gather around the cross, hoist it upright and to ask the LORD of the Harvest to anoint and appoint the cross for His service and for the Kingdom of God, that everyone who looked at this cross would see the ONE who was crucified for their sins and come to Him to receive forgiveness of sins and new life.

Hawaii has a rich Christian heritage, but because of so much spiritual darkness in the land (as it in in all our states), fresh Great Awakening amongst believers and Great Revival throughout Hawaii’s 1.5 million souls is the only way this looming spiritual darkness can be turned back, as God’s light breaks through and penetrates the darkened hearts and souls of individuals with His amazing love and grace.

YWAMers Praying For Great Revival And Great Awakening.

These young people know how to pray.

As I took pictures of these young missionaries while they prayed. I knew that God would not only anoint and appoint the cross for His glory, but that He was sparking anew and afresh the spirits of these young third day believers with a renewed zeal to reach their world for Jesus!

GOD’S REALLY GOOD NEWS TO HAWAII

I also knew that, even thought they may not have fully understood what they were doing by pointing the cross North, then East, then West, and then South (NEWS) as they prayed, God was going to send forth the Spirit of Great Revival throughout the entire state of Hawaii and reveal to thousands and thousands of men, women and children His GOOD NEWS of salvation in Christ Jesus. And that these young people would be part of this Great Awakening throughout Hawaii!

Part Two Shares The Capitol Mall Cross Walk.

CROSS WALK AMERICA: PRAY USA

Posted by Tom Alexander on February 8th, 2019

2019 CROSS WALKS

In 2019 Street Evangelist Tom Alexander will take the long cross to Hawaii, Alaska and Mexico. Hawaii will be state #40 that I have cross walked at each state capital and major cities of these 40 states as well. Alaska will be state #41. In 2020, I will bring the cross to the nine remaining Eastern Seaboard states, as well as taking the cross to The White House, Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court, hoisting that 10-foot, 60-pound cross upright and praying for great revival, great awakening and great repentance throughout the land.

BUILDING TWO CROSSES FOR THESE TWO STATE CROSS WALKS

Because I have to fly to both Hawaii and Alaska, I will not be able to bring the cross. so I will build a cross at each capital city, walk the cross throughout the city and state, and then leave the cross with someone would will pledge to take up the cross and regularly walk the cross and pray for that state. My goal in Christ is get one individual from each of our nation’s 50 states who will each began a cross walking ministry throughout his respective state.

THE 2020 CROSS WALKS

I will walk the cross throughout the remaining nine Eastern Seaboard States, including New York, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, Delaware, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Maine, as well as Washington D.C. two more times during this very important national election year. This includes cross walks at the White House, Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court of America.

CROSS WALK MEXICO

Between the two state cross walks in 2019, I will also begin cross walking Mexico, starting at Tijuana and eventually bringing the long cross to Mexico City, as well as bringing the cross to other California cities. So far, I have walked the cross in 140 California cities, and will repeat cross walks in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Oakland and San Diego as well.

I am excited about 2019’s cross walks, including this initial ministry incursion into Mexico. My prayer is that hundreds of thousands of Mexicans will accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord as well in the next couple of cross walking years throughout this great nation.

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

God is not willing that anyone should perish or be separated from Him for eternity. He proved His love for humanity when He sent Jesus Christ, His only Son, to die on the cross for our collective sins. God’s message of love is quite simple. John 3:16 tells us the simple yet everlasting message of eternal life in Christ Jesus.

These cross walks are all about sharing God’s love in Christ, and praying for great revival, great awakening and great repentance that produces godly sorrow. The love of God is greater than our sin. His grace is amazing. And His gift of eternal life is free to all—simply by accepting Jesus Christ as the Savior who died on the cross for our sins, confessing Jesus as Lord, and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, which is the proof that God is the giver and Lord of eternal life.

Why not give your life to Jesus today! If you have questions, contact me at Tom@WalkTheCross.com. John 3:16 explains it all concerning His amazing love for you and me!.

THE COMING GREAT REVIVAL IN AMERICA

2020 will prove to be much more than a major political election year. The LORD of angel armies has revealed that the start of nationwide great revival, great awakening and great godly sorrow that produces godly repentance will commence starting in January. The seeds of salvation have been planted by third day believers all across our nation, and harvest time is now upon us.

This great revival will not take place because of America’s righteousness, but because of the grievous sins of collective America. Such is the love of God! In spite of our collective wickedness, the God of truth and justice continues to have great compassion on the United Sates of America. Let us all begin a season of prayer for the 320 millions souls living in our nation!

THE CHRISTMAS CROSS

CHRISTMAS: THE VIEW FROM THE CROSS

The young boy glared at me as he slowly walked across the street and in front of the “go-ye-mobile” truck I use to carry and prominently display a 10-foot by 5-foot, 60-pound cross everywhere I go and for all to see. I didn’t understand his apparent agitation. I had stopped for him to cross over to the other side of the road and was driving under the residential speed limit.

As the young boy reached the other side of the street, he pointed a menacing finger at me and shouted out loud enough for all his friends to hear, “Hey mister! Did you steal that cross?!”

CHRIST’S CROSS IS GOD’S SPIRITUAL MAGNET

No, I didn’t steal that cross! I made it. And as I cross walk the streets of Bakersfield (a California valley city Jeanette and I have lived in for almost 30 years)—or the streets of Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and some 140 other California cities so far, as well as bringing that large cross to 39 states and state capitals and other major cities of America so far—the response to the cross of Jesus Christ is always the same no matter what city or state I bring it to. No matter whether the response is positive or negative ( and by far, the response is overwhelmingly positive), it is always the great attractor! For some reason, the large cross demands attention, demands attraction, demands notice, demands observation—and demands response. This greatest symbol of Christianity also demands thought, reflection, consideration, devotion and awe. There is simply something uniquely special about the cross of Jesus Christ.

Perhaps it’s because the Babe who was born in a wooden manger on Christmas day is truly whom the Bible and God’s holy prophets of old said He was—Isaiah 9:6’s  “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace—the great God and Savior Jesus Christ! And perhaps that’s the reason why the cross acts like a powerful spiritual magnet everywhere I walk, drawing and attracting men, women and children to the One who’s arms are open wide and hands outstretched with palms extended for all to see the “prints” of peace.

Jesus’ promise to everyone is, “If I am lifted up [on that cross] from the earth, I will draw all peoples to Me” (John 12:34, emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry »

CROSS WALK AMERICA: PRAY USA — Cross Walking Stories From 27 States In 2015, 2016& 2017!

Posted by Tom Alexander on January 3rd, 2017

Because Everybody Ought To Know!

In 2015 (September), 2016 (February-March and July-August) and 2017 (February -March), my wife and I brought the 10-foot, 60-pound cross to twenty-seven state capitals and major cities of those states! And, in 2018, our plan is to walk the cross in 12 additional state capitals and major cities beginning in March. Of course, there is a very good reason why I am walking the large cross to all 50 state capitals and major cities of America between 2015 and 2020. Our nation is in urgent and dire need of nationwide revival, repentance, great awakening and restoration.

Walking the cross a distance of about ten miles per capital and major city, scores of thousands of people from every walk of life got to see a sight they don’t see every day: a cross walker lugging a 60-pound, 10-foot cross throughout city streets and praying loudly and for long periods of time for the people living in these strategic areas. And God’s power was always released and felt by many individuals at each of the cross walks.

GOD’S PLUS SIGN TO AMERICA

Response to the large cross in each of these twenty-seven  states was very similar. Everywhere we brought the cross, and even as we traversed the freeways and highways in our bright red Go-Ye-Mobile truck from state to state and city to city with the large cross resting inside the truck bed and securely and snugly against the customized truck rack for all to see, people’s hearts were filled with joy as God’s Holy Spirit powerfully reminded each believer (as well as nonbeliever) just what Jesus the Messiah had done for all humanity when He died on the cross some 2,000 years ago.

And, as I walked the large cross from our motel room to the Capital Malls and downtown areas of these twenty-seven state capitals and each state’s larger cities, the response was always very positive and often very powerful, as well as heartfelt. The cross of Jesus Christ is God’s Plus Sign To America! Not one thing negative, but all things positive about His cross and the reason the great God and Savior had to die on the cross for the world’s collective sins.

THIS ARTICLE HIGHLIGHTS EACH OF THE TWENTY-SEVEN STATEWIDE CROSS WALKS IN
2015, 2016 AND 2017 AND SHARES EXCITING EVENTS THAT OCCURRED DURING EACH WALK.

Cross Walk America: PRAY USA Cross Walk Boise, Idaho

The Beautiful Snake River Runs Parallel With The Highway We Traveled On To Boise.

After a great cross walk in Olympia, Washington and a good night’s sleep, Jeanette and I headed southeast and toward Boise, Idaho, some 535 miles away. The drive was very pleasant and the scenery was beautiful as we traveled through eastern Oregon and to Idaho’s state capital.

Resting for the night, we couldn’t help but reflect upon God’s goodness to the people living in the states and state capitals we had cross walked in the past few days. Although each of the states was small in total population compared to our home state, California, we understood fully just how important it was for every person living in the United States to know just how much God loves each and everyone by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and to give eternal life to all who accept His free gift of salvation simply by accepting His Son as Savior and believing that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.

For Idaho’s 1.6 million souls,  the message of the cross is the same as it is for all people: the Cross of Jesus Christ is God’s Plus Sign to the world! There isn’t one thing negative, but all things positive about this cross! One sinner + the cross of Jesus Christ = Salvation; one drug addict + the cross of Jesus Christ = Set Free; one Christian + the cross of Jesus Christ = Victory; and so forth! Cross Walk America: PRAY USA Cross Walk Olympia, Washington

Posted by Tom Alexander on August 25th, 2016

20160722_120523 (2)After praying at Oregon’s state Capitol Mall in Salem, as well as the downtown area, I returned to our motel. Jeanette and I checked out of the motel, then headed for Portland for an entire day of cross walking. You can read about the awesome Portland Cross Walk by returning to our Home page.

After a special cross walk in Portland, which was prompted by TV and newspaper reports that  the city’s largest gang was targeting police for assassination, we headed for Olympia, the capital of Washington and just an hour away. As we left Oregon’s most populous city and entered Washington state, we were greeted by a large sign that also bore witness to why we were walking the cross in the state of Washington.

The sign made us smile because everyone entering Washington from Portland sure can’t miss reading God’s Good News about our Savior’s crucifixion on the cross for our sins, His resurrection from the dead, and His soon return. And, as we would find out later, there are many believers living in the Evergreen State.

But we would also soon discover that the state’s beautiful capital city also had some major problems.

MARIJUANA IS LEGAL TO USE RECREATIONALLY IN THIS STATE

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Shoot Dope, Skip Rope, Eat Cantaloupe. A Not So Normal Guide To Getting High.

In 2012 Washington’s citizens voted to legalize the recreational use of marijuana, aka cannabis. Since then there has been an upsurge in the number of marijuana-related fatal car crashes, reported in a 2016 article in the Washington Post and according to a new study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. No doubt, this and other safety issues concerning the legal use of cannabis products will eventually show that marijuana is not a safe and benign drug, as many pro-pot proponents tout.

For now, cannabis is legal to use in this state by those over 21. But, of course, we all know that this dangerous drug is most certainly used by those under twenty-one as well.

When we checked into our motel room I noticed that, along with many other sight-seeing brochures and visitor’s guides situated inside a large wooden rack,  a colorful guide and map to the state’s licensed cannabis shops was also included.

One of the reasons we had come to Washington was to pray that the people of this beautiful state would choose to say NO to using drugs, including marijuana and other cannabis products, even though it is legal to do so.

But I could see that we had our work cut out for us. Read the rest of this entry »

Cross Walk America: PRAY USA Salem, Oregon

11667519_10204756331764198_5069639852817325348_n (5)Our latest 8-state cross walks began with Salem, the capital of Oregon. Between 2015 and 2020, my wife and I will travel to all fifty states and walk the cross at each state capital, Capitol Mall, City Hall and Police Stations and hoist the cross upright at each place and pray long and hard for all the people living in that state, including its governor, state representatives and senators, city leaders  and the state’s Thin Blue Line of law enforcement officers.

As is usually the case, Jeanette and I try to stay at a motel within a few miles from each Capitol Mall and downtown area. I love walking the cross down the major streets and thru the residential areas leading to each Capitol building. I get to talk with and pray with the everyday people this way, and hundreds of people get to see the large cross before I make it to my destination.

Arriving in the afternoon in Salem on the 20th of February, we checked into our motel room and spent a peaceful night plotting out my route for the next day, as well as discussing the previous cross walk in Redding, California, where we had spent ministering 1½ days prior to driving to Salem.

A FOUR O’CLOCK IN THE MORNING DIVINE WAKE-UP CALL AND A COMBAT PRAYER

13709760_833749913391631_4619250484596839066_nI slept soundly this night, until 4 o’clock in the morning. For some reason, I was wide awake. I felt very fresh and rested, but though I do get up early, this is not the usual time that I arise. And, just like that, a very familiar Scripture from the Bible flashed like lightning across my mind.

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper.” I distinctly heard a still small voice speaking these special words of promise. Because I knew this was the LORD, I also knew it was time to pray. This was my prayer:

“LORD, You are my Shield and my Defender, my Strength and my Protector and the One who goes before me. I ask You to rebuke the evil one, Satan,  as well as the evil principality and overlord that hovers over Salem, the evil powers and dominions that are oppressing and influencing this city, the dark light rulers and evil spirits that have infiltrated this capital’s political and religious structures, and the demonic forces that are attacking and distressing the people of this city. Greater are You who is in and with me than he who is in the world…and there are many more of your angelic warriors with me than those that are with the devil. Lord, I thank You for the combat armor and armaments You have given me to wear as I enter this spiritual battlefield. And, I thank You for being my all-encompassing, all-around-me, surround-me, protective and indestructible shield of divine protection. I enter into Your victory over this city’s forces of evil and any weapon that might be used against me. I ask You to give me divine favor with the people of this strategic city. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.” This prayer is based upon Daniel 10, 1st John 4:4, Ephesians 6:12, and 2 Kings 6:12-18. Read the rest of this entry »
